Starting with the watermelon, we open a new special edition: “CINATUR`s fruits”, in which we will talk every month about each of the products we work with. The production and distribution of fruits and vegetables is our main activity.

You can find out all our catalog in the “products” section of our web. Summer is the season when we most want to eat refreshing fresh fruit, and watermelon is a clear example of the ideal food to have on hot days. Its high-water content and its sweet taste makes it a source of vitamins and also very healthy.

Properties of watermelon

Watermelon is a very beneficial fruit for our health. Among many other things, thanks to its high content of citrulline, it prevents the risk of cardiovascular diseases, reducing blood pressure. This substance also has antioxidant effects, very beneficial for our health. On the other hand, its high content of Vitamin A reduces the risk of suffering from eye diseases.

The fruit production that contributes to a good health is a priority at CINATUR. We worry about choosing the best product for its distribution. The nutritional value of watermelon is formed by an 89% of carbohydrates, 7% of protein and the remaining 4% are fats. But, if we make this same calculation by weight, it decreases drastically, since a 91% of this summery fruit is just water.

Watermelon cultivation time

Watermelon is grown mainly during the hottest months of the year. From April to October we grow the “seedless” variety, which has white seeds that are practically inappreciable when you eat it.

Blend all the ingredients together and place the mix into a special mold for popsicles. Freeze for 3 or 4 hours and … Ready to enjoy!
